Maple’s rooftop screening system is designed to hide unsightly HVAC machinery and equipment from view.

But at new student accommodation in Guildford, our Pluto system is also cutting out noise.

The lightweight and easy-to-install louvred screening features on all four six-storey blocks of the Guilden Village development. As well as ensuring a sleek finish to the purpose-built accommodation, the screening’s acoustic qualities means less disturbance for students relaxing on the popular roof terrace.

It’s another project for Maple’s new Pluto louvred screening system, which fixes directly to the building sub-frame and is ideal for rooftop locations.  Manufactured in Grade 6063 T6 extruded aluminium, the louvres attach to a hidden sub-structure of posts, mullions and rails with specialist fixings, while the structure itself is fixed to the building with galvanised mild steel brackets.

The 533-bed student accommodation project is Maple’s latest with main contractors McAleer & Rushe, after a successful collaboration on a hotel, apartment and college development at North Wharf Gardens in London.

Maple's pluto louvre system is lightweight and easy to install and hides unsightly HVAC machinery

It’s lightweight and easy to install - an important consideration for rooftop locations and fixes directly to the building sub-frame. Viewed from the ground, it’s a sleek system of powder-coated or anodised aluminium louvres.
